The First Baptist Church website is an example of a prefab template which was customized for the needs of the church. The logo at the top was replaced with the name of the church and a top menu was added to highlight important aspects of the site.

Features of interest on this site include sermon Podcasting, our custom photo album component, an online calendar allowing visitors to submit events to be approved by the secretary before posting, a guestbook allowing visitors to give feeback on the site, weblinks and a downloads component enabling the posting of PDFs and other documents for use by church members.

The menu along the top of the page features areas of the site which are updated weekly including the ability of visitors to listen to past week's sermons either directly on the page using a flash audio player, by downloading the MP3 or by subscribing to a podcast RSS feed. 

Three other areas of the site gather their content without any help from church staff. The For Fun window picks up a new comic automatically from an external website and displays a thumbnail along with a link to see the full version as they become available. The Verse of the Day pulls its content from Biblegateway all on its own and provides the ability to search the whole bible right here from the webpage. Also, the Coming Events section always shows the next five events listed on the church calendar with no need to be updated by hand (except that events must exist in the calendar to pull from).
